We know that it can be intimidating coming to a new church and that building relationships take time. We have found the following steps helpful in becoming a part of our church community:
We’ll have them available during the service. The cards help us know that you were with us on a Sunday. They also let us know if you have any questions about the church or would like to chat with a pastor. You can drop the card off at our Welcome Centre located in our church foyer. Once there, our hosts can help answer questions, introduce you to one of our church leaders, and hear a bit of your story. You'll also receiver a visitor's packet with general information about the church.
A few times a year we host a 4-week class for our newcomers. The class takes place in the Chapel right after our Sunday morning service and lasts just over an hour. You will have an opportunity to hear one another’s stories, Emmanuel’s story, and learn about next steps towards connecting at the church.
We think that one of the best ways to be part of a community, find friendship, and grow in your relationship with God is through being a part of a home group. You can discover and sign up to some of the different groups that are open here, or chat with our Welcome Centre for the most recent list of groups. Besides home groups, you can also take in a seminar, participate in sports, and join a Bible study or affinity group.
We want everyone to have an opportunity to serve through using their giftings and passions to make a difference in the lives of others. Pick up our "It Takes a Community" booklet at the Welcome Centre for a list of all the volunteer opportunities at the church.
You don't have to be at church to be in touch with us. Simply fill out the form below, type in the words "I'm new" and tell us a little about yourself. We look forward to getting back to you as soon as we can.
